7th June is World Food Safety Day. World Food Safety Day was established by the United Nations Decree of December 20, 2018. The World Food Safety Day, held this year for the first time, is held under the slogan "Everyone is responsible for food safety" to bring global attention to food safety.
World Food Safety Day, established by taking into account the fact that food security is closely related to the safety of food products, the global food production chain is becoming more complicated, and any adverse events related to food safety are adversely affected by people's health, trade and the whole world economy. Regarding this day State Agro Trade Company under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a meeting.
Representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, as well as food manufacturers, cooperated within SATC's "From Rural to City" project, attended the meeting.
The representative of the company, Royal Shirinov, welcomed the participants and pointed out the importance of this day and noted that the Ministry of Agriculture and its subdivisions carried out regular awareness raising activities among farmers and food producers on food safety. Recalling the approval of the State Program on Food Security in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2025 by President Ilham Aliyev's decree of April 29, 2019, Royal Shirinov called on every food producer to be active in this direction.
Then the representative of the company Vahid Mammadov made a presentation on "Food safety and quality management".
Participants of the meeting assessed importance of the establishment and celebration of this special day as essential for the health of future generations and the protection of the gene pool.
